Kemka H. Ogbonda. 

Kemka H. Ogbonda is a Professor of Environmental and Applied Microbiology at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education and has held several positions in the institution. They include the Director, School of Basic Studies; Head, St. John’s Diobu Campus; Dean, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences; and presently, he is the Director, Directorate of Research and Development of the University. He is an adjunct Professor at Federal University, Otuoke.

Current research includes:

  • Food Sanitation, Toxicology and Quality Control
  • Antimicrobial Properties of Phytochemicals (Plant extracts)
  • Environmental Bioremediation.
  • Food fermentations.
  • Influence of environmental factors (temperature, pH, salinity, nutrients) on biomass production & protein biosynthesis of Spirulina
  • Ethanol production from local raw materials.
  • Effect of temperature and pH on ethanol production by microorganisms.
  • Endogenous Ethanol Production in living organisms

 

PUBLICATIONS

Professor Ogbonda has published over 41 articles, 13 books, and 5 book chapters in local international peer-reviewed journals on environmental and applied microbiology, education, and general areas of knowledge. He has attended 12 local and international conferences and workshops and presented papers.
